Cheryl Hart has no complaints about starting off her busy work week. As the supervisor at picturesque Colborne Lodge in Toronto’s High Park, this life-long history enthusiast feels blessed that she gets to work in such a scenic, natural location in the heart of a vibrant community, doing a job she loves.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Cheryl always excelled at history in school. Her passion for the past took on a more serious scope when she moved to Toronto and studied Greek Bronze-Age Archaeology. Soon after graduating, Cheryl was awarded a research grant from the former Toronto Historical Board, then was hired into a full-time public programming position at Historic Fort York. From this location, she moved in and out of various roles, and nine years later was transferred to her current position as supervisor at Colborne Lodge.

Aside from the park setting itself, Cheryl thrives on the duties of her job, which entail being surrounded by a knowledgeable team of people and offering enriching activities and hands-on fun for kids and their families.
