When director of public relations at Cedar Point, Robin Innes, first accepted a position at the park he intended to stay for just a few years, get some experience and move on. Thirty one seasons later, the North Ridgeville, Ohio native is still there and loving it.

As a youngster, Innes dreamed of writing “the great American novel,” before developing an interest in broadcast journalism and news writing and reporting. When Innes first went off to school to attain a degree in journalism at Bowling Green State University, he wanted to become a radio jock, looking up to the likes of Don Imus before he became a shock jock. But as his professors deterred him from this path he switched his focus to news writing.

This lead to jobs at his hometown newspaper and as a tech writer for an international manufacturing company before he took a job at Cedar Park where he says the people are phenomenal: loyal, hardworking and dedicated.

Not only does Innes enjoy promoting Cedar Point’s exceptional product, he also likes the variety in his job – working with national magazines, news programs and corresponding with children who want to know how roller coasters operate.
